颜峄

颜峄(1666—约1751),字青来,江都(今江苏扬州)人。活动于康熙、乾隆年间。师从李寅,山水、人物学宋人。能界画,与同邑袁江相互影响,老当处不减袁江。尤擅长米家山水,浓淡相间,融化无迹,十分精妙。惯写古木寒鸦,造景屡多变化,画数百幅无一雷同。日本人极重其画。

传世作品

传世作品有康熙五十五年(1716)作《秋山行旅图》轴,现藏故宫博物院,绢本,设色,纵203.5厘米,横103.2厘米,右上自题:“丙申馀月,摹郭河阳画意于志山草堂,江都颜峄。”
       乾隆五年(1740)作《江楼对弈图》轴,藏广州市美术馆,绢本,设色,纵115厘米,横62.5厘米,款署:“乾隆庚申岁春二月,江都颜峄时年七十又五。”
乾隆六年作《秋林舒啸图》轴,藏辽宁省博物馆,绢本,设色,纵140厘米,横81.8厘米,左下角款署:“江都颜峄时年七十又六。”画面构图精妙,山石嵯峨,溪流蜿蜒,霜叶如染,苍松挺拔,丹、青二色相互交映,构成极为明丽端庄的氛围。秋林中端坐一位儒者,人物有古风衣饰,神气安闲,如小憩一般。
        颜岳擅画山水、工花鸟、亦摹仿宋、元人笔意。用笔工整细腻,传世作品甚少,《中国古代书画图目》仅仅著录其两幅花鸟作品,即藏于南京博物院的《花鸟图册》和《桃花双禽图》。
汪鋆《扬州画苑录》中云:“峄字青来,甘泉山人。工北宋山水,人物学宋,笔墨苍劲。其界画勾斫老当处,袁江不能过。尤善米山,由淡入浓,细细加点,妙能融化无迹。墨晕骀宕而活,虽以专擅之潘恭寿恐亦逊其沈秀也。至人物,直以勾勒提空之法为须眉衣褶,大致类张子羽,殆复过之。先生盖无笔不工,无体不备。” 汪鋆对颜峄的评价非常高。认为其界画在袁江之上,界画勾斫老当处,袁江不能过。
辽宁省博物馆藏《秋林舒啸图》是颜峄76岁时的作品。画面构图精妙,设色鲜明、清丽多姿。高士舒啸端坐于林泉间,人物神气安闲,如小憩一般。侍者相从,车停于路旁。山石嵯峨、溪流蜿蜒、霜叶如染、苍松挺拔,丹、青二色相互交映,产生明丽端庄的氛围。写景抒情较为真实,笔墨苍劲,山石用勾斫法,质理分明。人物鬓眉用勾勒提空法,刻画精微,人物也有古风,画面极具北宋遗风。
广西壮族自治区博物馆藏的《山松群鹤图轴》中,山石如斧劈刀削,水墨苍劲。山间古松虬曲如铁,枝叶茂密。树上群鹤栖息,或肃然静立,或展翅欲飞,或回头顾盼,或俯首觅食,形态各异、描写逼真、形象生动、富有生趣。款题:“摹李晞古画法于大年草堂”。颜峄惯写古木寒鸦、飞鸣栖宿,如:《枯木寒鸦图》、《寒乌慈孝图》等。现存的颜峄界画还有:《水村捕鱼图》、《江楼对弈图》、《江村图》、《雪山图》、《燕子矶》、《长江秋暮图》等。其山水界画大多数表现的是源于生活的江南风光。
南京博物院藏的《桃花双禽图》是颜岳传世不多的作品之一。桃树折枝上栖息着两只倦鸟,几株虞美人花斜伸而上,与桃枝对应。颜岳用笔凝练,以淡墨勾勒、粉白点染,晶莹剔透的桃花绽放在春风中,桃花用枯笔写意,恰到好处表现出花瓣筋络。二鸟气韵生动,造型准确、构图清新雅致。
       颜峄,是一位敢于直言,以院体为法的山水花鸟画家,其《山松群鹤图》署款题:“摹李晞古画法于大年草堂”,图写山石如斧劈刀削,水墨苍劲;山间古松虬曲如铁,枝叶茂密;树上群鹤栖息,或肃然静立,或展翅欲飞,或回头顾盼,或俯首觅食,形态互异,皆描写逼真,形象生动,富有生趣。
