陈栝，陈淳的儿子。善画花卉，笔似其父。嗜酒放浪。画擅花鸟，继其有法，而又出己意，笔致放浪而有生趣，亦能诗。先其父而亡。自元代文人画创立以写法入画以来，明代徐渭、陈道复更在花鸟中将笔迹放纵的写意画法又向前推进一步，而道复之子陈栝则更在其父基础上，将这种不拘于象的写法又发挥至极致，其勾点皴擦，随心所欲，绝出尘象之外。
       嘉靖二十六年(1547年)作〈海棠图〉，二十八年作〈湖山明丽图〉，三十二年(1553年)作〈墨笔花鸟图卷〉，由此可知其生活年代。作品有〈为肯山作山水图轴〉，〈花石图轴〉。

       Chen Trichosanthes, Chen Chun's son. Good painting flowers, pen like his father. Addicted to wine.
