王綦（生卒年不详），字履若，一字履石，吴郡（今江苏苏州）诸生。是明晚期吴门派后劲，性狷介，杜门以画自娱。擅山水，结构奇幻，秀润简远,其所画的人物、树石、花鸟，略写形似,不拘泥于任何画法.所画的山水,更是结构奇幻,自由驰骋于思，别具一格，是一个书卷气极浓的画家。他好写庭院小景，幽桐修篁，竹篱茅舍，倚水面山，是贫寒文人理想的读书养性之处；亦作人物、树石、花鸟，随意点染，不拘泥于画法，所作笔墨高古，迥出流辈之外。
