江南人,生卒年不详。工山水、人物、花竹、翎毛,尤善画牛,有戴嵩遗风。工画花竹翎毛,兼长水牛及猫.《宣和画谱》著录御府所藏其画迹有《倒影牛图》《渡水乳牛图》《夹竹桃图》《四皓弈棋图》《长江渔乐图》《潇湘逢故人图》《写生鸡冠花图》《斗牛图》《牧牛图》等44件。
祁序(公元11世纪)〔北宋〕江南人,生卒年不详。工山水、人物、花竹、翎毛,尤善画牛,有戴嵩遗风。工画花竹翎毛,兼长水牛及猫.《宣和画谱》著录御府所藏其画迹有《倒影牛图》《渡水乳牛图》《夹竹桃图》《四皓弈棋图》《长江渔乐图》《潇湘逢故人图》《写生鸡冠花图》《斗牛图》《牧牛图》等44件。传世佳作有《江山放牧图》卷,绢本,设色,纵47.3厘米,横115.6厘米,画面近处有耕牛16头,有从水中驮着牧童踱上岸者,有在水边饮水者,有在水中沐浴者,有在较着劲相斗者,有小牛犊追赶母牛者,形态各异,生动有趣;牧童有唱山歌者,有吹笛者,有在大声呼喊者,天真可爱,如闻其声,如同其乐;而湖水静澄,丛树苍郁,山冈起伏,小雨将霁,涤荡得天地间一尘不染,好一派江南锦绣河山,使人爱不释卷。整幅画面构图开朗,笔力劲健,卷前有金章宗完颜璟签题“祁序江山放牧图”,此为传世孤本,曾经清内府收藏,现藏故宫博物院。

Herdsmen have mountain singers, pipers and loud voices. Callers, innocent and lovely, like the sound of its music, like its joy; and the lake quiet, lush trees, hills ups and downs, light rain will clean up the world spotless, a school of beautiful rivers and mountains in the south of the Yangtze River, people can not help but love. The whole picture is bright in composition and vigorous in brushwork. In front of the volume, Jin Zhangzong and Yan Jing signed the title "Grazing Map of Qixu Jiangshan Mountain", which is a solitary handed down version. It was once collected by the Qing Neifu and is now stored in the Palace Museum.
