《兰花图》扇页，明，陈元素绘，金笺，墨笔，纵17.7cm，横53.7cm。

　　扇页有自题：“拟杯当晓起，呵镜可微寒。隔箔山樱熟，褰帷桂烛残。书长为报晚，梦好更寻难。景响输双蝶，偏过旧畹兰。己未清和既望戏为启扬仁兄并书。陈元素。”钤“元素”朱文印。

　　“己未”是明万历四十七年（1619年）。

　　图绘一丛无根兰，旁录唐李商隐《晓起》五律诗。偃仰的兰花为兰叶所掩，花与叶间互盼呼应，以意到笔不到的内在神韵相连，达到形散神聚的境地。作者画兰的水平被公认在同时代的绘兰名家王榖祥、周天球之上。

 陈元素楷书师欧阳询，草书入二王格，一时名辈皆喜与之往来，可见陈元素的人品与才气。他生前为王宠写过小传，文辞优美，舒卷自如，与其书法风格相当。

陈元素的草书作品，转折圆浑而内含秀逸，纵横自如而稳健停匀，于大令之外，又颇得率更之笔意，故折不嫌方，转不厌圆。由于陈元素的书法流传不多，记载他的生平事迹也寥寥，故要全面客观地评价他的书法尚捉襟见肘。

Wanli forty-three years was the preface to Shen Zhou's Collection of Mr. Shitian. The paintings were written in Melantu in the thirty-seventh year of Wanli and recorded in Zhiyutang Calligraphy and Painting Record. The works handed down from generation to generation include 48 years of Wanli (1620) and Liu Yuan's collaboration on the axis of Lanshitu, which states: "Gengshen Bath Buddha Rihua Yang Dongtian Opera, Chen Element." In the first year of Chongzhen (1628), he wrote the volume of "Melantu", which is now in the Palace Museum; with Shao Mi, the axis of "Lanzhu Tu" flowed into Japan; and the axis of "Melantu" written by Tianqi for three years, the Department of Finance: "In the Mid-Autumn Festival of Haihai, it was painted in the dark iron flower of Tiger Hill, Chen element." Mr. Wang Jiqian of Tibetan America, Huaiyun Tower; Melan Volume in the 7th year of Tianqi (1627) and Lanshitu in the 4th year of Chongzhen (1631) were collected in the Shanghai Museum in cooperation with Sheng Maoye.
