王仲玉号青冈,明代安福人,举人出身。1546年(嘉靖二十五年)任同安县知县,禁盗贼,关心人民疾苦,时海盗又入同安县境,他组织军民严守,使百姓无恙。为政清廉,受上司嘉奖。事迹被收录于(民国)《同安县志》 。

画幅上部隶书录东晋著名诗人陶渊明之辞赋名作《归去来辞》全文。下部绘陶渊明像,其手持长卷,目视远方,宽大的袍袖随风飘动,形象潇洒飘逸。画像用白描法,主要以淡墨勾画,其中偶施浓墨。五官以细线勾勒,刻画出人物从容安详的神态。衣纹线条以中锋、侧锋交替使用,具婉转流畅之势。作品以极简的笔法和构图表现出陶渊明辞官归隐无官一身轻后的愉悦神态及其一代名士的不凡气质。
Wang Zhongyu, named Qinggang, was an Anfu native of Ming Dynasty. In 1546 (Jiajing 25 years), Ren Tong'an County, Zhixian County, banned thieves and cared about the people's suffering. When pirates entered Tong'an County again, he organized the army and the people to strictly observe, so that the people were safe. He is praised by his superiors for his honesty. The deeds were recorded in Tong'an County Chronicle of the Republic of China.

The garment lines are used alternately by the center and the side, which has the tendency of euphemism and fluency. The work shows Tao Yuanming's pleasant posture after his resignation from office and his extraordinary temperament of a generation of celebrities with minimal brushwork and composition.
