唐澄，中国第一位动画片女导演。1950年3月，入上海电影制片厂美术片组。1957年转入上海美术电影制片厂。先后任动画设计、副导演、导演。《骄傲的大将军》是她第一次担任动画师的影片。《萝卜回来了》是她执导的第一部动画片。唐澄的代表作还有《小蝌蚪找妈妈》、《大闹天宫》、《草原英雄小姐妹》、《鹿铃》等。
唐澄，曾用名唐荣澄、唐清之，安徽歙县人。随家迁居上海。父亲是位国画家；母亲毕业于师范学校，喜爱赋诗作画。唐澄自幼受家庭环境影响，学习勤奋，成绩优良。民国21年(1932年)在读初中时，因患重病辍学。养病期间，跟父亲学习国画。民国26年考入上海美术专科学校，一年后又因病辍学。民国32年在上海的小学、中学教过美术。后因长期患病，休养在家，以卖画为生。
1950年3月，唐澄进入上海电影公司美术片组。1951年任动画片《采蘑菇》的动画设计助理。1954年独立担任动画设计，参加设计的动画片有《好朋友》、《夸口的青蛙》。同年加入中国共产党。1955年她参加了彩色动画片《乌鸦为什么是黑的》、《骄傲的将军》、《木头姑娘》等片的动画设计。1957年调上海美术电影制片厂任原画兼动画组长。
1958年至1960年，唐澄先后任彩色剪纸片《八月十五庆丰收》、彩色动画片《老婆婆的枣树》、《萝卜回来了》、《森林之王》等片的集体编导之一，其中尤以童话题材的彩色动画片《萝卜回来了》见长，该片曾获1960年在捷克举行的第12届卡罗维·发利国际电影节荣誉奖。1960年底摄制了中国第一部水墨动画片《小蝌蚪找妈妈》。影片为集体编导，使齐白石创作的小鸡、鱼、虾、青蛙、蝌蚪等国画形象在银幕上栩栩如生地活动起来，发展了美术电影的技巧和表现形式。该片在国内获第一届电影百花奖，在国际电影节上5次获奖。
1961～1964年，唐澄担任大型彩色动画片《大闹天宫》的副导演。她是中国第一位动画片女导演。《大闹天宫》上集摄成后，在国内和港澳地区、东南亚国家放映受到热烈欢迎，荣获1962年第二届百花奖最佳美术片奖。《大闹天宫》下集完成后已临近“文化大革命”，影片未上映即被禁锢，直至“文化大革命”结束后才上映。上映后，轰动了国内外，获很高评价。整部《大闹天宫》获1980年伦敦电影节奖。
1965年，唐澄与钱运达联合导演了彩色动画片《草原英雄小姐妹》，该片在1980年获第二届全国少年儿童文学创作三等奖。1978年底以来，唐澄以孱弱多病的身体，花了二年时间导演拍摄了水墨动画片《鹿铃》。影片强烈地抒发了人与鹿之间的感情，并以其独特的写意风格获1982年文化部优秀影片奖、第三届中国电影金鸡奖最佳美术片奖和1983年莫斯科电影节最佳动画片特别奖。1983年全国妇联授予她全国“三八红旗手”称号。曾被选为上海市第七届人大代表，还曾任中国电影家协会上海分会理事。
