赵丹（1915－1980），原名赵凤翱，中国著名电影演员，祖籍山东肥城，出生于江苏扬州，生长于江苏南通。

1932年被明星影片公司著名导演李萍倩看中，在无声片《琵琶春怨》中扮演一纨绔子弟，从此成为明星影片公司的基本演员。先后参加拍摄了《上海二十四小时》（1933）、《时代的女儿》（1933）、《三姐妹》（1934）、《到西北去》（1934）、《女儿经》（1934）、《空谷兰》（1934）、《乡愁》（1934）、《落花时节》（1935）、《热血忠魂》（1935）、《小玲子》（1936）、《清明时节》（1936）等二十多部影片；由于他热爱表演艺术，又有刻苦钻研的精神，加之形象好，极有表演天才，很快成为引人注目的“明星”。
与此同时，他还活跃在舞台上，曾在世界名剧《娜拉》中饰演海尔茂、《大雷雨》中饰演吉洪、《罗密欧与朱丽叶》中饰演罗密欧。在影、剧两个方面，均显露出他的艺术才华，成为一名引人注目的话剧演员和电影明星。
主要作品以及参演经历
1936年—1937年，主演了中国电影史上经典影片《十字街头》和《马路天使》。在《十字街头》中扮演失业大学生老赵，刻画了这个天真、纯朴、热情，并带有几分傻气的青年知识分子形象；在《马路天使》里，赵丹在表演上有了新的突破，运用现实主义的创作手法，从生活出发，经过概括提炼，真实而又自然地塑造了心地善良、乐于助人、淳厚质朴、又爱自作聪明的吹鼓手小陈的形象，受到广泛赞许，从而奠定了他作为一位艺术大师的坚实基础。
抗日战争爆发后，赵丹加入抗日救亡演剧三队，辗转各地，宣传抗日，并于1939年参加影片《中华儿女》的拍摄。1939年6月，他与徐韬、王为一等前往新疆开拓进步戏剧工作，后被反动军阀盛世才监禁，系狱5年。抗日战争胜利后回到上海，主演了影片《遥远的爱》和《幸福狂想曲》，并导演了一部讽刺和揭露国民党反动派“下山摘桃”进行掠夺，标榜接收，实为“劫收”的影片《衣锦荣归》。
1948年后，在昆仑影业公司拍摄了《关不住的春光》、《丽人行》、《乌鸦与麻雀》等影片。他在《乌鸦与麻雀》中饰演的“小广播”肖老板最负盛名，他把这个生活在旧社会都市里的小市民典型，刻划得惟妙惟肖，栩栩如生。建国后，历任全国人大第一、二、三届代表、第五届全国政协委员、中国影协和中国剧协常务理事、中国影协上海分会副主席等，并于1957年加入中国共产党，同年获文化部1949—1955年优秀影片个人一等奖。
他先后主演了《为了和平》（1956）、《李时珍》（1956）、《海魂》（1957）、《林则徐》（1958）、《聂耳》（1959）、《烈火中永生》（1965）等影片，创造了李时珍、聂耳、林则徐、许云峰等熠熠生辉的银幕形象，代表了中国20世纪50—60年代电影表演艺术的水平。
他饰演李时珍，付出了艰巨而创造性的劳动，准确地把握了李时珍的精神气质和性格特征，随着年龄的递增和环境的变迁，把角色青年时的稚真倔强，中年时的执著追求和进入老年后的敦厚深沉，表演得细致入微，形神毕肖；他饰演的林则徐，在表演上吸收了中国写意画中大落笔的手法，从人物形象的整体把握和规定情景出发，全局在胸，张弛有致，感情真挚浓烈，气势宏伟磅礴，创造了这位在中国近代史上反帝爱国的民族英雄形象；他所塑造的聂耳，脉络清晰，层次分明，性格鲜明，时代感强，充满了浓郁的浪漫气息和明朗的幽默色彩。
电影《烈火中永生》谱写了一曲缅怀、歌颂革命烈士的悲壮颂歌，也是他生前拍摄的最后一部影片——他塑造的革命烈士许云峰，是一个坚毅沉着、正气凛然，有血有肉的活生生的艺术形象，表现了共产党人坚不可摧的革命意志和视死如归的高风亮节，这些形象，都是镶嵌在社会主义电影银幕上的明珠，具有征服观众的力量。
“文化大革命”期间，深受“林彪、江青反革命集团”的残酷迫害，被囚禁达5年之久；中共十一届三中全会以后，他热情地为高等学府讲授表演艺术，并不顾重病缠身，于1979年完成了《银幕形象创造》和《地狱之门》等著作。
他具有多方面的艺术才能，大量书画作品受到中国书画界的珍视，《赵丹书画选》相继问世。
不幸的是，1980年10月10日，赵丹因患癌症在北京病逝，终年65岁。
在近半个世纪的艺术生涯中，孜孜以求现实主义的创作手法，不断探索中华民族的表演艺术体系，强调趣在法外，诗中有画，画中有诗的创作意境；他的表演，主张用体验和体现的和谐统一，洒脱自如，形神兼备，意境深邃，具有其独特的艺术风格。

绘画成就赵丹1930年曾就读于上海美专，从师黄宾虹、潘天寿等中国画大师专中国画，同时参加进步戏剧活动；后毕生从事戏剧、电影表演艺术，同时，创作了大量的山水花鸟画和书法作品。
