清初吴伟业所作《画中九友歌》中，赞明末清初董其昌、杨文聪、程嘉燧、张学曾、卞文瑜、邵弥、李流芳、王时敏、王鉴等9位画家为:"画中九友"。董其昌为山水画的南北宗派论，崇南抑北，以南宗清幽淡远之风为画家正脉，其时的画家李流芳、程嘉遂、杨文骢等受其影响。清初王时敏、王鉴等也传其脉络。他们非属同一画派，而是以友谊为纽带、相互切磋画艺的几位画家，他们在明末清初画坛中占主导地位。(祥见清初吴伟业所作《画中九友歌》)。

 In the Song of Nine Friends in Paintings written by Wu Weiye in the early Qing Dynasty, nine painters such as Dong Qichang, Yang Wencong, Cheng Jiazhao, Zhang Xuezheng, Bian Wenyu, Shao Mi, Li Liufang, Wang Shimin and Wang Jian were praised as "Nine Friends in Paintings". Dong Qichang's theory of the north and South sects of landscape painting, choosing the south to restrain the north, and taking the quiet and distant wind of the South sect as the main vein of the painter, was influenced by the painters Li Liufang, Cheng Jiasui and Yang Wenji at that time. In the early Qing Dynasty, Wang Shimin and Wang Jian also spread their ideas. They are not of the same school of painting, but several painters who take friendship as a link and consult with each other.
