Early life and work


Charles' message: angland was born in criquetot sur ouville, Normandy, France. President Charles P. angland (1829 - 96) and his wife Mary (1833 - 1905) were born in France.

In the early 1880s, angrand's Impressionist paintings usually depict rural objects and contain broken strokes and key colors, reflecting the influence of Claude Monet, Camille pissaro, and Jules Bastien Lepage. Through him and Hugh, signac and others in the mid 1880s, his style evolved into Neo impression ism. From his painting Neo impression ist in 1887 and his drawing tenebrist style Lattice. His black and white crayon drawings, such as his self portrait, also prove his subtle handling of light and shadow,  evaluated by signac: " A masterpiece of his painting. In Les independent angrand, his works are exhibited in Paris, Galerie druet, the Museum of painting Durand Ruhr Bernheim Jeune, Rouen. His work appeared in Brussels in 1891 to show Les XX. The stippling school angrand develops its own unique method and larger strokes. This results in a rougher optical blend than the smaller dots he uses to compensate for the brighter colors.
