　　本幅款署“东村周臣”，钤“东村”、“舜卿”朱文印。

　　此图以传统的春山行旅为题材，描绘高山石崖险峻陡峭，楼阁房舍掩映其间，错落有致。近景山溪岸边春花几树，山溪湍流，小桥流水，主仆一行三人正在过桥。山上苍松浓郁，遒劲多姿。舍后绿树成荫，一派春机昂然的景象。画家在全景式的构图中突出前景，着意表现春山、游骑、桃花、虬松，以此点明题意。

　　作品构图繁复而不失明旷，稳健周密，雄中寓秀，密中呈疏；设色清妍秀丽，笔法劲健明秀；人物用细线淡色，笔意流畅，是周臣代表作品之一。本幅山石方折峻嶒，勾皴细密硬朗，松树略为倒挂多杈，斧劈皴挺括，造景雄奇，其艺术风格主要继承了南宋的“院体”画传统，也融合了北宋李成、郭熙的画法。

This picture takes the traditional Spring Mountain trip as the theme, depicting the steep and steep mountains and rocky cliffs, while the pavilions and houses are scattered in the meantime. Near the shore of the mountain stream, there are several trees with spring flowers, the mountain stream is turbulent, the bridge is flowing, and the master and servant are crossing the bridge. Pinus canadensis on the mountain is rich and vigorous. Behind the house, trees are shaded, and there is a spectacle of vigorous spring. The painter highlights the prospects in the panoramic composition, intentionally expressing Spring Mountain, Rangers, Peach Blossoms, and Pines to illustrate the theme.

The composition of the work is complex but not blindness, steady and meticulous, the male is beautiful, the secret is sparse; the color is clear and beautiful, the strokes are vigorous and bright; the characters with thin lines and light colors, smooth brushwork, is one of Zhou Chen's representative works. In this picture, the stone is rugged, the outline is fine and hard, the pine tree is slightly upside down, the axe is straightforward, and the scenery is magnificent. Its artistic style mainly inherits the tradition of "courtyard style" painting in the Southern Song Dynasty, and also integrates the painting methods of Li Cheng and Guo Xi in the Northern Song Dynasty.
