　　明代宫廷绘画中有一类表现帝王生活和重大历史事件的作品。此幅描绘明宣宗朱瞻基便服簷帽在御园观赏各种体育竞技表演的场面。画面上从右至左依次为射箭、蹴踘、马球、捶丸、投壶，场面宏大繁复而又具体入微，生动地表现出当时宫中的文体娱乐活动。由于要反映特定的地点和环境，所以描绘了大量的建筑。此卷以工整细腻的写实手法按照历史原貌对明代皇宫的楼台殿阁作了既真实又概括的描绘，是研究明代宫廷历史以及皇家建筑的重要资料。

There are a kind of works in court paintings of the Ming Dynasty that express the life of emperors and important historical events. This picture depicts Zhu Zhanji, Xuanzong of Ming Dynasty, in plain clothes and eaves and hats, watching various sports and competitive performances in the imperial garden. From right to left, the pictures are archery, cuju, polo, thumping balls and pitching pots. The scenes are magnificent, complex and detailed, which vividly shows the recreational activities in the palace at that time. A large number of buildings are depicted because they reflect specific locations and environments. This volume gives a realistic and general description of the palace's terraces and pavilions in the Ming Dynasty in accordance with the historical original appearance with neat and delicate realistic techniques. It is an important material for the study of the palace history and royal architecture in the Ming Dynasty.
