--------Introduction in English--------
"Liuxi Muma Tu" Fan Page, Qing Dynasty, Shen Zhenlin Painting, Paper, Coloring, 17.5 cm in length, 52.4 cm in horizontal.
The fan page has its own title: "Shen Zhenlin Gong's Paintings." Jun "minister" in white and "Lin" in Zhu.
This painting depicts six unrestrained horses resting on the Bank of a stream during the fluffy period of weeping willows. Shen Zhenlin was an important horse painter in Xianfeng, Tongzhi and Guangxu periods of the Qing Dynasty. However, his horse painting techniques could not be compared with those of Western painters such as Lang Shining, Ai Qimeng and Wang Zhicheng who were good at horse painting in Qianlong Dynasty. The author draws a horse's body and bones with a slightly stiff and clumsy line, showing a slightly rigid and lacking vitality. From the self-titled "Shen Zhenlin Gong Painting" and Jun's "Chen" seal, it is known that Shen Zhenlin was painted by the Qing Royal family. Therefore, he is meticulous in the creation of the backdrop. The willow leaves of weeping willows and reeds in Huiting of Shallow Stream in the picture are delicately depicted, with clear brush strokes and overlapping layers of change, showing their good and painstaking intentions.
