《雄鸡图》轴，清，陆恢绘，绢本，设色。纵28.2厘米，横45.1厘米。
本幅自识：“曾在井南寓舍时写此，后至湘中，得遍临古人名迹，然山水居多，而花鸟反不能如此肥润矣。丁酉十月恢记。”按“丁酉”为清光绪二十三年（1897年），时作者46岁。钤“癖于斯”朱方印。
图中画白百合、紫菊花数枝，在花朵掩映的湖石上，一只雄鸡正侧首觅食。花石和雄鸡主要以“没骨法”绘出，渲染清丽，赋色淡雅。图中雄鸡灵活、警觉的姿态透露出它的健壮和机敏，真实而传神。陆恢是民国年间山水画大家，其作品多以摹古见长，虽然他时而也创作花鸟，但如此图之生动者不多。按本幅自识，此图当作于陆恢和吴大澂相识之后，陆恢曾遍览吴所收藏之书画，上窥唐、宋，下至元、明，于艺事大精。对于前人笔意，尤于花鸟，陆恢应有自己的一套理论。以此件作品来看，陆恢结合了对物象真实体态的写真和精妙传神的写意来表达物象的形、神之统一，画面饱满且气韵生动，确有其独到之处。

The picture shows several branches of white lily and purple chrysanthemum. On the lake rocks covered by flowers, a cock looks for food on its side. Flowers, stones and cocks are mainly painted with "boneless method", which renders them beautiful and elegant. The cock's flexible and alert posture in the picture reveals its robustness and agility, authenticity and vividness. Lu Hui is a master of landscape painting in the Republic of China. His works are mostly based on the ancients. Although he sometimes creates flowers and birds, there are not many vivid pictures. According to this picture, Lu Hui once visited Wu's collection of paintings and calligraphy, peeping at Tang and Song Dynasty, down to Yuan and Ming Dynasty, and mastering art. Lu Hui should have his own set of theories about the brushwork of his predecessors, especially flowers and birds. From the perspective of this work, Lu Hui combines the realistic portrait of the real body and the exquisite vivid freehand brushwork to express the unity of the image and the spirit of the object. The picture is full and vivid, and it has its own unique features.
