--------Introduction in English--------
"Du Fu's Poetry Intention" axis, modern, Fu Baoshi painting, paper, color, 110.5 cm vertical, 32.4 cm horizontal.
The title of this painting is: "In February, the poetry of Dugong Department was written down the hillside on the diamond-holding slope." Jun's "Fu", "Often drunk" and "Trace Dahua" Zhu Wenfang Seal.
The year before the death was 1943.
As can be seen from the inscriptions and postscripts, this picture is based on Du Fu's poem "Beauty" in the Tang Dynasty. The protagonist of the original poem is a woman abandoned during the war. She has been separated from each other several times, her brother died tragically, and her husband-in-law is looking for a new love. The cruelty of life makes her feel the coldness of the world. However, she did not give in to her fate, and resolutely went to the mountains alone, neighboring the grass and trees, and living in seclusion in the valley. Fu Baoshi fixed the picture in the last sentence of this poem, "The cold green sleeves are thin, and the day and night depend on bamboo", describing the beautiful woman in the cold day and evening, without jewelry, hair without flower arrangement, describing haggard, leaning on the repair of bamboo situation. The oblique green bamboo hints that the beautiful woman is similar to her tall and flexible noble sentiment. The painter's implicit brush and ink depicts the strong and persistent character of a young woman with tragic fate, which makes her image full of both tragic color and lofty feeling.
Du Fu's poem is a poem of his own self-esteem, which reflects his true feelings of the nation and nation under the difficult situation of no food or clothing. This poem is clearly used by the painter to express his concern for the country and the people during the Anti-Japanese War.
